We're living in some pretty crazy times right now. We understand that this pandemic has had a major effect on everyone, and while the health and safety of everyone is our first priority, we also know that many of you guys are entering a new era of new found flow. We have been getting a lot of questions recently about how you can keep up on your own grooming, so we had all our barbers come up with some tips for you at home. But first, here is a quick video of me attempting to cut my own hair, and as you will see, this is a first even for us professionals.

Tip #1: Less is More

Jon
Rather than taking too much off, be cautious. Take off just enough to feel like something got done. After this is all over, and we get you back in the shop, we will fix any of the problems and get you back to looking like yourself again.

Tip #2: Don't Panic

Dave
Even if you make a mistake while cutting your own hair, which will probably happen, don't panic. You may be left with a look you're not used to having, but the most important thing to remember is that it WILL grow back!

Tip #3: Lighting

Jesse
It is important to have good lighting when cutting your own hair. Without it, you'll have more of a chance of missing a few spots. In fact, going outside can help avoid a mess and provides the best light....plus it's an excuse to get out of the house.

Tip #4: TAKE Your Time

Dorian
Look, cutting your own hair is going to be awkward at first. You probably don't have anything else do except binge Tiger King, so really take your time and don't be a hero. After a little bit of practice, you'll get the hang of it.

Tip #5: Beard Line

Justin
When it comes to trimming your own beard, a proper beard line is essential, so be sure to take your time here. You can easily get lost in taking a little bit back here and there, and then all of a sudden your entire beard line is off and you might even need to shave the entire thing.

Tip #6: Ask For HELP

Nate
Your back neckline is going to be the hardest part about cutting your own hair. If you are hunkered down with someone else, ask them to help you out and trim you up.

Tip #7: Use Multiple Mirrors

Mark
Setting up multiple mirrors can help you see the back of your head while being able to keep your hands free. It will be awkward at first and getting used to moving in the mirror, but stick with it and it will definitely be worth it in the end.
And there you have it, seven of our best tips right from our barbers. Don't forget to share this article with all your friends, and on behalf of all my guys we just want to encourage everyone to follow all recommendations from the CDC, including washing your hands and practicing social distancing so we can get through this as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can help support us by checking out our online store.
Stay healthy, and we can't wait to get back to cutting some hair!
